Corporate Vice President, Research and Development
Hua Xue is Lattice’s Corporate Vice President, Research and Development. He brings more than 25 years of combined experience in the FPGA and EDA industries to his role as Lattice’s head of Research and Development. He joined Lattice in 2001 and served as the vice president of software systems and solutions worldwide, before being named CVP, R&D in October 2017. As Lattice’s head of R&D, Hua wants to bring innovative new software and silicon products to Lattice’s customers ahead of their needs.
Before joining Lattice, Hua was a senior member of technical staff at then start-up Magma Design Automation. His leadership and technical contribution in Blastfusion 1.0 directly contributed to Magma’s early business success and its IPO in 2001. Before Magma, he was a software engineering manager at Xilinx where he managed the CPLD design software for all Xilinx CPLD product lines. In the early years of his career, Hua also spent a few years in academia researching design automation algorithms as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Technology University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Hua’s main field and engineering interests in his career cover FPGA Architecture and Product Development, Design Automation, Computing Algorithms, HW acceleration and Machine Learning. Hua has published more than 20 papers in various journals and International Conferences. He holds eight US patents in the FPGA and PLD field.
Hua received his Undergraduate, Master, and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. In his leisure time, Hua is an outdoor enthusiast partaking in cycling, hiking, camping, and skiing with family and friends.
